Job Details

• Sourcing Strategy Development
• Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Trials Sourcing to develop comprehensive sourcing strategies for clinical trials materials, services, and suppliers.
• Identify potential suppliers/vendors through market research, benchmarking studies, and supplier evaluations to support clinical trials sourcing needs.
• Supplier Relationship Management
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers/vendors involved in clinical trials sourcing activities.
• Lead negotiations for contracts, terms, pricing agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and other commercial terms with suppliers/vendors.
• Supplier Evaluation & Selection
• C Develop supplier evaluation criteria based on quality standards, cost-effectiveness requirements, regulatory compliance, delivery timelines specific to clinical trials materials/services.
• Conduct supplier assessments through audits or site visits to ensure capabilities meet organizational needs.
• Contract Management
• Manage contracts with suppliers/vendors ensuring compliance with agreed-upon terms, renewal/termination processes as required.
• Collaborate with legal teams to review contract language, mitigate risks associated with clinical trials sourcing activities.
• Team Leadership & Development
• Provide guidance, direction, mentorship to the Strategic Sourcing Specialists responsible for specific categories within clinical trials sourcing.
• Foster a collaborative team environment; monitor individual/team performance, provide feedback/coaching as needed.
• Risk Management & Compliance
• Identify potential risks associated with sourcing activities (e.g., supply chain disruptions), develop risk mitigation strategies/crisis management plans to minimize impact on clinical trial operations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations/guidelines such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP) throughout all stages of clinical trial material/services procurement
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sourcing activities; monitor supplier performance against established metrics/SLAs to ensure adherence to quality standards, delivery timelines, cost targets within clinical trials sourcing projects.
• Generate regular reports on performance trends, cost savings achieved, supplier performance assessments for senior management review.
• Continuous Improvement Initiatives
• Identify areas for process improvements within the clinical trials sourcing function; collaborate cross-functionally to implement process changes aimed at optimizing efficiency/effectiveness.

Quality Management System

Work closely with the QA team to investigate any customer complaints or deviations related to sourced pharmaceutical drugs for clinical trials.

Provide necessary information, documentation, and support to assist in determining root causes, implementing corrective actions, and preventing future occurrences.
