AtalaIA Detection Technologies
(Palma de Mallorca) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Neuroscience to contribute to
KINAI
, a multimodal, AI-driven digital twin of human athletic performance. KINAI integrates
EEG
,
3D biomechanics / motion capture
,
thermography
, and
wearables
, with training on
HPC infrastructure
and deployment
on edge devices
to deliver real-time risk and performance insights for injury prevention, performance optimization, and rehabilitation. The project is developed within a high-impact innovation framework and is supported through
NEOTEC
, reflecting its R&D depth and translation potential into deployable clinical and sports applications.

In this role, you will design and run multimodal experiments, manage participant recruitment and consent processes (GDPR), and lead high-quality data acquisition and analysis workflows. A core focus will be building reproducible EEG pipelines (including artifact handling and methods such as ICA/SSP), and contributing to the integration and analysis of
fMRI
(resting-state connectivity and task-fMRI) in collaboration with clinical partners. You will also work closely with our machine learning team on cross-modal modelling and fusion strategies to support low-latency, on-device inference. The position includes scientific dissemination (publications/conferences) and contributions to best practices in reproducibility and data governance.

Candidate profile
We are looking for applicants with a
PhD
in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics or a related field, and demonstrated hands-on experience with
EEG acquisition and preprocessing
. Proficiency in
Python
for scientific computing (and comfortable use of git/Linux) and a solid grounding in experimental design and statistics are required. Experience with
fMRI analysis
and/or multimodal or self-supervised representation learning is advantageous, as is familiarity with BIDS-based workflows.
English fluency
is required; Spanish/Catalan is a plus.

Offer
The position is based in Palma de Mallorca with hybrid working and flexible scheduling. Compensation is approximately
€2,500 net/month (12 pays)
, depending on experience and personal tax situation. The role includes
30% protected research time
for your own research projects using company resources, plus a high-end laptop, an electric bicycle for local mobility, access to cloud/HPC resources, and a conference/training budget. Performance-based upside is available through a phantom shares benefit.
