About The Business Unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Overview Of The Role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department based in Madrid.

Key Responsibilities And Duties Include

• Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple accounting systems
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and deliver financial information to external accountants for tax filings and statutory reporting
• Facilitate internal and external audits by providing required documentation
• Assist and process employee expense claims, accounts receivable and payable
• Monitor and review employee timesheets
• Maintain compliance with corporate policies and local regulation
• Ad hoc support across the finance function, other general administration tasks

Candidate specification
Essential

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Strong knowledge of the Spanish General Chart of Accounts (Plan General Contable)
• Experience in reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and IFRS standards
• Minimum 5 years in financial accounting or audit within an international environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Desirable

• Pursuing an internationally recognised accounting qualification
