About the Role

Taphandles Cerviteca SLU, the European subsidiary of Taphandles LLC (USA), is seeking a
Design Engineer
to join our growing creative engineering team in Barcelona.

We design and manufacture
custom beer fonts, tap handles, and branded equipment
that help breweries across Europe stand out and sell more beer. This is a hands-on, technical design role that blends mechanical engineering, creative problem-solving, and practical manufacturing knowledge.

You'll work closely with our Lead Engineer and Project Managers to develop 3D and 2D designs, prepare manufacturing documentation, and support prototype and production activities across our global supply chain.

What You'll Do

  • Provide design assistance and administrative engineering support
  • Produce detailed 2D drawings from 3D CAD data supplied by Lead Engineers
  • Create and prepare 3D and 2D component and assembly designs
  • Generate technical documentation, including Bills of Materials and sub-assembly layouts
  • Apply correct drafts and radii to 3D CAD models for tooling readiness
  • Review CAD data for feasibility, identifying interferences, undercuts, and uneven wall sections
  • Support tooling and manufacturing with sound design-for-manufacture practices
  • Prepare CAD data for prototyping and assist with prototype builds
  • Provide engineering assistance to the assembly and production teams

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in
    Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
    , or a related field
  • Proficient in
    PTC Creo 3D CAD
  • Working knowledge of
    Windchill
    (training can be provided)
  • Familiarity with
    Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Competent in
    Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Manufacturing and processing methods
  • Die casting, injection molding, machining, and fabrication
  • Finishing processes (plating, painting, powder coating, etc.)
  • Practical experience with prototyping and knowledge of finishing and lighting techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications (Advantages)

  • Understanding of testing techniques and data evaluation
  • Knowledge of tooling design and manufacturing best practices
