Your Thesis will be developed in the framework of the Unlocking-QS project (funded by the National Research Agency, AEI, PID B-C21) which addresses the huge threat that bacterial infectious diseases pose to the society.

Being one of the top global death causes, delayed or inaccurate diagnostics drive to unappropriated antibiotic treatments, what results in a deficient management of the disease and, at the same time, favouring the rising of the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threat. To tackle these menaces, Unlocking-QS proposes the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic tools based on targeting the bacterial quorum sensing (QS) system.

Requirements:


• Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields


• Strong motivation for experimental research


• Interest in infectious diseases, antibody development, immunoassays, biosensors and cell culture techniques.

Previous experience or knowledge in these technologies will be recognized


• High team-player skills: Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment


• Passionate about interdisciplinarity and applied research


• Remarkable academic track record


• High command of English
