About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and analytical
Graduate Cyber Security Analyst
to join our security team in Australia. This is an entry-level role ideal for recent graduates looking to start a career in cyber security. You will receive training and mentoring while gaining hands-on experience in monitoring, incident response, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and alerts to identify potential threats
- Assist in investigating and responding to security incidents
- Support vulnerability assessments and risk analysis activities
- Help implement and maintain security controls and policies
- Participate in security audits and compliance activities
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to enhance system security
- Maintain documentation of security processes and incidents
- Stay updated with emerging cyber threats and security best practices
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (recent graduates welcome)
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and cyber security principles
- Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, antivirus, or firewalls is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in cyber security
Nice to Have
- Internship, placement, or project experience in cyber security
- Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with Australian cyber security frameworks (ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST)
- Interest in pursuing security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP)
- Experience in Security Operations Centre (SOC) environment
