The Director of Respiratory Therapy, EEG & SleepCare Services oversees the operational, clinical, and administrative functions of the Respiratory Therapy and EEG Departments. This role ensures delivery of high-quality patient care, compliance with regulatory standards, and achievement of departmental goals related to quality, safety, and financial performance.
The Director provides leadership, training, and supervision to respiratory therapists and technicians, coordinates departmental staffing and scheduling, and participates in the hospital's quality improvement and community health initiatives. This position also functions as a clinical resource and may perform respiratory care procedures when needed to support patient care.
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Associate's program in Respiratory Therapy
Current Ohio Respiratory Care License required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- HAZMAT training preferred
Minimum of 2–5 years of supervisory and/or management experience preferred
Strong clinical background in all aspects of respiratory care, including diagnostics, therapeutics, monitoring, and patient education
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
Proficient in computer systems, data entry, and electronic documentation
Knowledge of budgeting, cost analysis, and quality improvement processes
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for the Respiratory Therapy, DME, and Neurology Departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery
Ensure compliance with the Ohio Board of Respiratory Care and other regulatory agencies
Develop and manage department budgets, goals, and performance metrics
Oversee staff scheduling, evaluations, and performance management activities
Maintain appropriate inventory and equipment maintenance procedures
Facilitate quality improvement initiatives and risk management reporting
Collaborate with physicians, administration, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
Participate in hospital committees and community education initiatives related to cardiopulmonary health
Maintain professional growth through continuing education, training, and certifications
