BeChained is scaling its core technology. We are seeking an exceptional, entrepreneurial Data Science Engineer to lead the development of our next-generation Process Digital Twin Serial Builder.

This is a pivotal, high-impact role at the intersection of Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) for optimization and prompt engineering for industrial automation.

About BeChained & Our Mission

BeChained is building an AI solution for industrial manufacturers to dramatically reduce energy costs and carbon emissions (targeting 65 million tCO2/year by 2040).

Our RL agents, integrated with existing facilities, continuously identify optimal machine settings and execute improvements automatically, unlocking opportunities in demand-response and carbon markets.

You will be joining an impact-driven startup with international exposure across EU and US markets, operating at the highest levels of industrial AI innovation.

The Role: Building the Digital Twin Builder

You will play a pivotal role in product standardization and automated deployment. Your primary responsibility will be to architect and implement the Process Digital Twin Builder, a framework designed to rapidly deploy our optimization agents across new client facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• DRL Agent Engineering: Design, build, and deploy Multi-Agent Deep Reinforcement Learning models specialized in manufacturing process optimization.
• LLM Integration & Prompt Engineering: Leverage advanced prompt engineering techniques to automate the configuration, calibration, and parametrization of new Digital Twins based on initial customer data and process documentation.
• End-to-End Pipeline Ownership: Roll out highly scalable RL/ML pipelines in a cloud-native environment (i.e. AWS, GCP, Azure) that are deployable on-premise or in the cloud with "some clicks".
• Research & Improvement: Identify and integrate state-of-the-art RL and LLM architectures to ensure our solution remains leading-edge and agnostic from specific hardware/processes.

Minimum Background & Expertise

• We are looking for a highly capable researcher or engineer ready to translate complex ideas into reliable production code.

MUST HAVE Technical Depth:

• Education: MSc (preferably in Engineering) or higher degree, with a Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a related AI/ML field highly preferred.Deep
• Reinforcement Learning: preferably previous working or researcher experience (minimum 2 years) in Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), particularly in multi-agent systems and real-world industrial optimization.
• Prompt engineering Proficiency: Proven experience in prompt engineering and integrating AI and prompt engineering for complex process automation, configuration generation, or knowledge extraction.
• Data Science: Hands-on experience with optimization models, time series forecasting, and mathematical optimization.
• Coding & MLOps: Exceptional programming skills in Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas, Scikit-Learn) and Curso

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud-based environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
