Your Employer Our client is the national services body for the Australian dairy industry, committed to supporting the profitability and sustainability of dairy farming. They work to deliver high-impact services in research and innovation, farm business management, climate adaptation, animal welfare, people capability, and industry promotion. Dairy is Australia's third-largest agricultural industry and a vital contributor to both domestic supply and international trade—supplying fresh milk, cheese, and specialised products like infant formula across Asia. The industry is innovating rapidly—embracing robotics, genetics, pasture science—and attracting new capital and talent. With a team spanning eight dairy regions and a head office in Melbourne, the organisation partners closely with farmers, regional development programs, government, and industry stakeholders to ensure Australia's dairy sector remains productive, resilient, and globally competitive. The Role This newly expanded role leads the strategic delivery of extension services and industry support across Western Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia. You will lead a committed regional team, translating national programs into regionally relevant, farmer-focused solutions. Key responsibilities: Lead and support a geographically dispersed team of ~12 staff Oversee planning and delivery of regional dairy services aligned to strategy Build strong farmer and stakeholder relationships across multiple states Champion continuous improvement and regional program innovation Represent the industry at regional events, forums and stakeholder meetings Collaborate with research, comms, and farm engagement teams Monitor delivery outcomes and promote cross-regional consistency About You You are a skilled leader and communicator with an affinity for agricultural communities and strong experience in extension, agribusiness or stakeholder management. You thrive on building trust, managing diverse teams, and making a tangible difference on the ground. You will bring: Exceptional people leadership and change management skills Experience working in agribusiness, dairy, or related industries Ability to engage with a wide range of farmers and stakeholders Proven regional planning and service delivery capability Sound understanding of farm business challenges and opportunities Strong presentation, facilitation, and community engagement skills A base in Western Victoria (e.g., Camperdown, Warrnambool, Colac, Geelong) The Benefits: Play a visible leadership role in shaping the future of dairy in Western Victoria and beyond.
