Position Title: Senior EHS Expert

Location: Madrid

Type of Contract: Full-Time / On site

Position Summary

The Senior EHS Manager serves as a strategic leader responsible for enterprise-level EHS program development, regulatory strategy, and culture transformation. This role demands broad technical expertise, deep regulatory knowledge, and a demonstrated track record in managing complex EHS challenges across multiple sites.

Candidates must be fluent in both English and Spanish. Proficiency in both languages is mandatory for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategic EHS programs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee corporate-level assurance programs and governance structures (e.g., ISO 14001/
  • Lead high-level interactions with regulators, third-party auditors, and corporate leadership.
  • Guide risk prioritization using data analytics and drive enterprise-wide continuous improvement.
  • Develop and roll out behavior-based safety (BBS) programs and EHS training frameworks.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure program effectiveness and report to senior leadership.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams including industrial hygiene, biosafety, and environmental professionals.
  • Champion EHS culture initiatives and sustainability goals across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in EHS, Public Health, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of experience in EHS with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Advanced degree or certification preferred (e.g., CIH, CSP, CHMM, PE).
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and compliance execution.
  • Strong track record in regulatory negotiation, crisis management, and organizational change.
  • Fluent in enterprise EHS systems and tools with cross-site management expertise.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and executive presentation skills.
