VLM is a technology capable of processing materials 1,000x more viscous than any other 3D printing resin, and we've then turned that viscosity into also unprecedented material properties, reaching automotive & aerospace properties (or literally printing rocket propellants).

Your mission

You will be a pivotal force in our Engineering Team. We are looking for a proactive Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the lead the design and industrialization of our machines. You will be responsible for critical design decisions, re-designing subsystems and components, selecting manufacturing techniques and suppliers, defining assembly processes and designing tooling's, creating QA protocols, all while closely collaborating in a cross-functional team with electronic, process, and software engineers. The starting point are working prototypes, your goal will be to industrialize them and support the production ramp-up.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design of the products, from subsystem to component level.
  • Keep technical documentation and CAD data up to date.
  • Selecting manufacturing technologies and suppliers.
  • Defining quality requirements and protocols.
  • Defining assembly processes and designing tooling and quality assurance testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, specially with electronic and process engineers.

About You

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on product development, ideally industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in CAD
  • Experience in several manufacturing techniques.
  • Proven track record in complex engineering projects.
  • Experience in the transition to production ramp-up and collaborating with operations teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
