Laboratory Assistant – CMC SPT

Would you be interested in working for a global pharmaceutical company that helps people living with allergy? We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant for our CMC SPT & Serum Lab group.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the operational support required for the smooth running of the laboratory, managing materials, documentation, equipment and samples in a regulated environment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage materials, reagents and consumables (receipt, storage, inventory, ordering).
- Prepare reagents and solutions according to instructions and procedures.
- Support stability studies: receipt, labelling, logging, storage, distribution and disposal of samples; organisation and follow-up of stability studies.
- Complete and update templates, logbooks, records and inventories in both paper and electronic formats (primarily Excel).
- Maintain the physical and digital archive of documentation associated with assays and studies.
- Perform basic laboratory operations (weighing, pipetting, equipment checks: balances, pH meter, pipettes; reagent preparation; waste management).
- Carry out analytical assays such as SDS-PAGE, ELISAs and other biochemical and molecular assays.
- Participate in microbiological testing, mainly preservative efficacy tests.
- Review procedures and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Your qualifications
- Academy Profession/ Vocational Training in Laboratory or equivalent.
- Previous experience in laboratories (industrial/academic).
- Handling of laboratory instrumentation (balances, pH meters, automatic pipettes).
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP environments.
- Intermediate IT skills (email, Excel, Word).
- Intermediate level of English reading skills.

The position is located at ALK's site in Madrid, which is in the business area of Ciudad Lineal, very close to the center of Madrid. We have quick access to the Hermanos García Noblejas and Ascao metro stations and we also have a wide bus connection. The manufacturing center is located at Calle Miguel Fleta 19 while the Business Support area is in an annex building located in the Avalon Business Park. Nevertheless, we have a remote working policy that will allow you to work from home part of your time.
