VHIR offers vacancy/vacant positions for a Research Technician of the Cardiovascular Diseases Research Group.

Education and qualifications:

Required:
  • Biology, Biomedicine, Biomedical Sciences or Life Sciences Degree.
  • Master's Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Research or similar.
  • Enrolled on a PhD program or intending to enrol in the present year
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • Experience in cell biology, and general domain of biochemical techniques (RNA extraction, qPCR, Western blot, immunofluorescence.)
Desired:
  • Previous experience in aging pathophysiology will be highly valued.
  • Technical expertise in the chemistry of AGEs
Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Cardiomyocyte isolation
  • Fluorescent confocal cell imaging
  • Isolation of functionally intact cardiac mitochondria
  • Immunofluorescence/histopathology of heart samples.
  • ELISA, W. blot and PCR.

Labour conditions:

  • Full-time position: 40h/week
  • Starting date: immediate
  • Gross annual salary: 22.823,22 euros
  • Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
