Head of Battery Algorithms
to lead the development of advanced models and optimization algorithms for large-scale
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the battery algorithms and work with the data science team
- Define and own SoC, SoH, degradation, and lifetime models
- Develop real-time and market-driven optimization algorithms for battery dispatch
- Combine physics-based models with machine learning for high-accuracy predictions
- Integrate algorithms into BMS, EMS, and cloud platforms
- Ensure safe, compliant, and warranty-aligned battery operation
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- Master's or PhD in energy systems, control, ML, or electrochemistry preferred
Experience
- 5+ years in algorithm development for complex systems
- 3+ years in batteries, BESS, or power systems
- Experience leading technical or R&D teams
Technical Skills
- Battery modeling (SoC, SoH, degradation, thermal)
- Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++
- Machine learning (time series, neural networks)
- Optimization, state-space modeling, system identification
