Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Cloud Operations Engineer
with strong experience in both
Microsoft Azure
and
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
. This is a
nearshore US, remote-only
position focused on monitoring and supporting cloud environments used by the organization. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent spoken and written
English communication skills
, and the flexibility to perform scheduled
after-hours maintenance tasks
.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Monitoring & Operations
- Monitor Azure and AWS environments.
- Respond to alerts and system notifications in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure uptime, stability, and performance across cloud workloads.
Troubleshooting & Incident Response
- Diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure issues involving compute, storage, networking, identity, and related services.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and document resolutions with clear technical detail.
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
After-Hours Tasks
- Perform scheduled maintenance, updates, and deployments outside normal business hours when required.
- Support urgent after-hours tasks when pre-authorized.
Cloud Administration
- Manage and optimize AWS and Azure services.
- Support provisioning, configuration, security hardening, and lifecycle management of cloud resources.
- Adhere to cloud security best practices, including access management, patching, and backup strategies.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Provide clear, concise, and professional communication.
- Deliver detailed updates during issue resolution and post-incident reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience
managing and supporting Azure and AWS environments. - Strong knowledge of cloud networking (VPC, VNets, routing, VPNs, DNS, firewalls).
- Experience with cloud monitoring, alerting, and logging tools.
- Ability to analyze logs and metrics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code solutions (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent spoken and written English
is mandatory. - Ability to perform scheduled after-hours tasks as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS or Azure certifications
- Experience with automation or scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Background with hybrid cloud or enterprise-level environments
