About the Unit

In Deimos, a company within Indra Group, we are shaping the future of space technology through pioneering missions in Earth observation, satellite communications, and scientific exploration.

The GNC/AOCS Competence Centre within the Flight Systems Business Unit focuses on the design, development, specification, and validation of autonomous systems for aerospace platforms, including Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), and Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR). Our projects cover areas such as satellite formation flying, in-orbit servicing, active debris removal, planetary landing, launch vehicles, Earth observation, interplanetary navigation, and unmanned autonomous vehicles.

What will you do?

  • Specify, design, implement, and validate AOCS and FDIR algorithms for Earth-observation, interplanetary, and ADR/IOS satellites.
  • Develop GNC and FDIR algorithms for satellites, launchers, and re-entry vehicles.
  • Support procurement and specification of sensors and actuators for GNC and AOCS.
  • Perform model-based design implementation of GNC/AOCS algorithms.
  • Design and test simulators and dynamic system simulations.
  • Conduct mathematical modeling and trade-off analysis of hardware solutions.
  • Interface with the overall system team and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Participate in technical and team management activities.

What are we looking for?

Engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, or related fields (Physics, Mathematics).

Minimum 3 years of experience in practical application of GNC/AOCS and FDIR domains (MSc/PhD studies considered).

Strong background in control and simulation of dynamic systems.

Practical experience in aeronautical/aerospace GNC/AOCS and FDIR solutions (ESA/European programs experience is a plus).

Good programming skills and experience with Matlab and Simulink.

Good level of English, spoken and written.

Availability to work in a hybrid model in Madrid.
