Operations Associate – Investment Funds

We are seeking an Operations Associate with deep expertise in investment fund operations, strong technical command of NAV (Net Asset Value) processes, and hands-on experience across trading, settlement, and complex reconciliations. This role is mission-critical for ensuring a seamless and controlled post-trade environment, safeguarding operational accuracy, and supporting end-to-end valuation workflows.

The ideal candidate brings proven experience in asset management or fund administration, understands NAV construction in detail, and is comfortable managing high-stakes operational flows with custodians, administrators, and brokers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Trade & Cash Operations (Settlement & Post-Trade Controls)

• End-to-end coordination of trade settlement across multiple asset classes.

• Validation, matching, and lifecycle monitoring of transactions via Nexen and trading platforms.

• Break resolution, investigation of pending or failed trades, and escalation alignment with custodians and administrators.

• Daily cash and position reconciliations to ensure alignment across systems, custodians, and fund structures.

• Maintenance of strong operational controls aligned with audit and compliance standards.

2. Investment Funds Operations – NAV & Valuation Support

• Review and validation of NAVs prepared by fund administrators.

• Analytical assessment of NAV components including pricing, accruals, expenses, corporate actions, FX movements, and portfolio changes.

• Cross-checking of pricing sources and verification of valuation inputs.

• Reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies impacting fund valuation.

• Support on reporting and data integrity tied to valuation and fund accounting processes.

3. Income, Distributions & Cash Management

• Preparation and verification of payment instructions for coupons, interest, distributions, and other income events.

• Validation of fund-related fees (management, administration, custody, and others) and coordination with administrators to ensure correct NAV booking.

• Reconciliation of executed payments and upkeep of accurate operational records.

4. Coordination with Service Providers

• Daily interaction with fund administrators, custodians, brokers, and middle-office teams.

• Structured management of operational workflows with a strong focus on SLA discipline and execution precision.

• Ongoing alignment with Capital Markets and Finance teams to ensure consistent and reliable operational data.

Day-to-Day Activities

A typical day includes validating cash and positions, reviewing executed trades, resolving settlement breaks, analyzing NAV components, performing reconciliations, managing banking movements, and coordinating with administrators and custodians. The role demands strong technical judgment, prioritization skills, and an unwavering commitment to operational accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in investment fund operations, fund administration, asset management, or custody, with direct exposure to NAV processes.

• Technical Knowledge:

– Full NAV lifecycle: pricing, accruals, expenses, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

– Systems: Nexen, Bloomberg, trading and reconciliation platforms.

– Strong understanding of financial markets, settlement cycles, and corporate actions.

• Skills: Advanced Excel, high analytical accuracy, strong operational discipline, ability to perform under pressure.

• Languages: Fluent English; Spanish preferred.
