Requirements:

  • Basic experience or strong academic background in backend development, ideally with exposure to data-engineering applications and scalable architecture.
  • SQL fundamentals: Knowledge of database design and ability to write and optimize queries for performance.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB) and interest in learning hybrid SQL/NoSQL solutions.
  • AWS exposure: Understanding of core AWS services (ECS, RDS, Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch, IAM) and willingness to learn data-related services like Glue, Athena, and CloudFormation.
  • Interest in data pipeline development and ETL processes, with some experience or academic projects in batch job scheduling.
  • Basic knowledge of RESTful API development.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative code management tools.

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (AWS Developer Tools, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation tasks.
  • Awareness of monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana).
  • Understanding of performance and scalability concepts for backend services.
