What you will do

As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will be a foundational member of a new team within our "Indie" vertical. You'll be dedicated to building the best all-in-one commercial platform for small independent hotels. Our vertical is at a pivotal and exciting stage. Following a recent acquisition, we are on a mission to unify our product lines into a seamless platform. This presents a unique technical challenge: integrating different technological stacks (Python/Go/.NET).

You will not just be writing code; you will be a key voice in architectural decisions, helping us navigate this mixed-tech landscape. Your work will directly contribute to migrating, integrating, and building the future of our platform, minimizing dependencies and empowering our team to be truly self-sufficient. Where you will have impact

• Own and evolve our backend services, bridging the gap between our Python, Go, and .NET stacks.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Guarantee the performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems as we process large volumes of real-time data.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, striking a balance between pragmatic solutions and long-term quality.
• Lead architectural discussions and play a key role in shaping the technical evolution of our platform.
• Proactively manage project momentum by anticipating roadblocks, proposing solutions, and delivering impactful results.
• Mentor and elevate your teammates through code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.

About our team

We help small independent hotels set the right price, on the right day, across all their bookable channels. While our existing products are integrated, the features and technology are still fragmented over several applications. This new team is tasked with building a seamless experience for end-users and improving efficiency for other teams such as customer care, finance, other engineers.

The team will consist of frontend and backend engineers and will closely collaborate with similar teams in the indie vertical, leveraging their existing knowledge to make the best technical decisions. You will also closely collaborate with data teams that help organise and crunch terabytes of data and integration teams that collect and distribute data across the hotel-technology landscape.

Who you are

• Multiple years of experience as a backend engineer, with a track record of owning complex projects from concept to production.
• A polyglot mindset with a genuine excitement for working across multiple languages and frameworks.
• Strong skills in software architecture, data modeling, and system design for APIs and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with both relational and NoSQL databases and a clear understanding of their trade-offs.
• A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, adept at navigating existing systems while building for the future.
• Experience defining the technical vision for and delivering large, business-impacting projects.

We welcome

• Previous experience in a technical integration role, especially in a post-acquisition environment.
• Previous experience in following programming languages: Python / GoLang / .NET.
