We're seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Barcelona. If you're ready to soar, we're ready to take you there. 

You will have the opportunity to crunch massive datasets using the latest Big Data technologies as well as solve problems using state of the art AI algorithms. You will be a key player in the organisation; designing and implementing advanced analytics and using machine learning to build AI powered solutions for almost every area in the business like online fraud detection, recommendation engines, user experience personalization, optimising the flight combinations we offer or the marketing campaigns we launch, and virtually every possible area subject to optimization in the business. Within the Data Science team, we are focussed on researching and building cutting-edge solutions to evolve better travel experiences for our customers, all by leveraging the information from over 30 million searches that we receive everyday Due to this scale, we are able to have a wider and better selection of travel plans that are tailored to suit the traveller's needs which is probably more than any other travel site.. Machine learning models in production make over 1.8 Billion predictions a day improving customer experience and helping drive better decisions in an ever changing environment. What you will do:
The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks

As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Senior Data Scientist in the Data Science team you will be in charge of:

  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams and key stakeholders to drive value and growth for both our customers and business.
  • Take ownership of initiatives and ensure successful delivery from initiation to final outcome.
  • Provide transparency on initiatives to the team and stakeholders.
  • Influence and advice stakeholders on the best course of action.
  • Keep up-to-date on the advancements in the area of machine learning and AI.
  • Lead and mentor data scientists.
  • Act as an evangelist for machine learning and AI.
  • Adhere to company values, create and maintain a friendly working environment.

What you need to succeed: 

Job Requirements
Bring your unique perspective, speak up, and offer disruptive solutions. You'll have the opportunity to learn and grow while making a real impact on our team. Here's what you need to succeed: 

  • Degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or other quantitative fields);
  • 5+ years of related experience as a Data Scientist, AI expert or Machine Learning engineer;
  • A solid understanding of relevant statistical, data processing and machine learning methods and their implementation using standard open source frameworks;
  • Experienced with building production ready machine learning solutions and MLOps;
  • Experienced Python developer. Other programming languages are a plus;
  • Experience with cloud platforms and scalable solutions;
  • Experience creating solutions powered by Generative AI, specially Large Language Models, and LLM frameworks like LangChain will be a plus;
  • Written and oral communication skills (in English).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
  • Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
  • AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
  • Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as "pair programmers" to complement traditional software development practices.
