Your mission 

Ferrer is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Corporate Medical Affairs team as Medical Head of Therapheutic Area, leading a team assigned in the area. This role is a critical position to Lead the design and execution of the near- and long-term global medical strategy for a Therapeutic Area within the company, forging bold strategic partnership with the healthcare ecosystem. Responsible for managing and developing the overall performance of the Therapeutic Area by ensuring alignment with the company's strategy, scientific lead through medical expertise and engagement planning, ensuring collaborative work and effective communication with other Ferrer Corporate Areas, Ferrer Subsidiaries and Partners, as well as key external stakeholders in the scientific and health care ecosystem.

The position will report to the Chief Medical Officer, member of the Board of Directors of Ferrer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure early and holistic implementation of scientific plans to systematically shape health policies and practical guidelines that converge clinical innovations and treatments into improved standards of care through better disease management.
  • Lead the Global Medical Affairs Strategy and the Integrated Evidence Generation Plans for therapeutic areas, ensuring early engagement with external and internal stakeholders while promoting the alignment with affiliates and partners.
  • Lead medical assessment for potential new candidates to enter a clinical development phase.
  • Drive best-in-class launch execution for assets within the Therapeutic Area.
  • Oversee that all non-regulatory/registration studies are developed based on evidence gaps.
  • Scientifical lead the interaction with regulatory authorities into therapeutical area.
  • Drive the execution and performance of medical teams through a proper objective setting and efficient resource management and allocation in the therapeutical area. 
  • Ability to articulate and set priorities and needs with strong influencing skills.
  • Attract, retain and develop talents while maximizing potential for leadership.
  • Encourage innovation, early engagement and data generation.
  • Participate as medical representative in internal strategic committees.
  • Proactively and strategically build and strengthen partnerships beyond the traditional Healthcare professionals and organizations, while being the medical representative of the company at key external governmental, scientific, clinical, and medical forums related to the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Role model ethical standards and contribute proactively to the purpose of Ferrer.
  • Ensure a collaborative and flexible cross-functional equal partner way of working with key Country and Corporate internal stakeholders, including Business Development, Compliance, Marketing, Market access, Patient advocacy, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, R&D and Sales, among others.

Requirements

What you'll need to succeed 

You will rock at this company if you are a person with empathy, humility, curiosity and optimism.

You will rock at this role if you match with:

  • Life Sciences, Biomedical or Medical education at Master or PhD level.

  • 4-5 years of experience in similar roles. Regional or global experience is a plus.

  • Pharma Life Science business expertise.

  • Previous Therapeutic Area experience in in rare diseases or orphan indications desirable.

  • Previous experience in leading teams.

  • Excellent command of English.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions.

  • Capability to work continuously in a cross functional matrix mode.

  • Very good Strategic, Analytical, and communication Skills.
