Nurture is a kids' interactive learning company helping 4–7 year olds build the human skills they need to thrive in a fast-changing, AI-shaped world. We combine story, play, and safe AI-powered personalisation to create joyful learning adventures families trust.

Role Purpose

To own the moment-to-moment feel of Nurture's adventures. This role brings interactions, UI flows, and animations to life so our experiences feel smooth, responsive, and joyful for young children. You will take defined gameplay and systems and elevate them through thoughtful UX, timing, polish, and performance. You will work closely with our Senior Unity Engineer, Creative, and Learning teams to ensure every interaction feels intuitive, safe, and emotionally aligned with our characters and learning goals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Implement smooth, child-friendly gameplay using existing systems and tools.
  • Own UX polish across adventures, including transitions, responsiveness, timing, and interaction feel.
  • Build clear, intuitive UI flows for ages 4–7 and integrate/tune animations and interactions.
  • Prepare scenes for release, including Addressables setup, backend hooks, and analytics events.
  • Optimise runtime performance with a focus on animation smoothness, UI responsiveness, and lightweight scenes.
  • Prototype new interactions, refine AI-generated flows, document UX/gameplay patterns, and collaborate across Creative, Learning, and Engineering.

Skills & Qualifications (Essential)

  • Professional Unity experience
    (not hobby-only), including implementing gameplay features or UI/UX in a shipped project.
  • Strong UI/UX and interaction design capability
    , and it would be GREAT if you it was in building clear, child-friendly flows for young users.
  • Hands-on experience integrating and polishing animations
    in Unity, with solid understanding of timing, easing, curves, and feedback loops.
  • Confidence in runtime performance optimisation
    , particularly improving responsiveness, animation smoothness, and scene lightness across devices.
  • Experience integrating backend endpoints and analytics events
    to support gameplay and UX features.
  • Highly collaborative working style
    , comfortable partnering with Creative, Learning, Production, and Engineering teams.
