We are looking for a Cloud & FinOps Platform Engineer to join the Public Cloud team within the central IT Cloud and Development Platforms department of SIX. Alongside the Public Cloud team, you will work as a go-to person for public cloud-related laaS/PaaS demands, enabling internal customers to identify cloud use cases and supporting internal Azure and Google Cloud platforms that power international financial markets 24/7.

We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with experience in cloud transformations, who can help to identify and implement use cases benefitting from cloud technologies while ensuring secure, compliant and cost-effective operations.

• Be part of an international team that securely designs, develops, improves and operates the public cloud platforms, including the customer landing zones and its foundational services.
• Demonstrate strong customer focus and communication skills while leading our customers along the cloud journey; from mindset change, evangelizing them and identifying value-add cloud use cases to implementation and operation.
• Own FinOps execution with AI assistance. Support Dev teams on economical cloud patterns, govern and iterate the FinOps rule set, optimize commitment strategy, manage central reservations and savings plans, as well as continuously deliver actionable cost improvements.
• Become a go-to person for laaS/PaaS public cloud demands, consulting DevOps teams and acting as an ambassador throughout the organization to promote the transition towards cloud-native solutions.
• Maintain and expand the library of IaC blueprints for cloud services such as containers, databases, and more.

• Minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience at enterprise-level with public cloud services, focusing on cloud core services (resource management and policies, networking, security, storage and IAM) and PaaS services (like Containerized managed services) on Microsoft Azure. Bringing knowledge of Google Cloud and AWS is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Blueprints creation with Terraform), CI/CD tools, pipelines and DevOps (Gitlab).
• Practical experience in programming and automation (e.g., Python, cloud functions, Ansible and scripting in PowerShell ).Hands-on cost FinOps experience with Reservation, Saving Plans and cost optimization in Azure, certification is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills with a strong customer focus. Excellent written and verbal skills in English, German or Spanish is an advantage.
