Full‑Time | Permanent Position
Key ResponsibilitiesUser Support & Daily Operations- Act as the central point of contact for all operational questions and needs in assigned lab areas.
- Ensure a high-quality user experience by supporting smooth service delivery and resolving lab‑related issues efficiently.
- Introduce new J&J staff to the Avantor scope on site, ensuring they understand processes, expectations, and support channels.
- Create and follow up on service tickets for broken or malfunctioning assets; coordinate with relevant vendors and track timely completion.
- Inform end users about timelines, progress, and outcomes of service requests.
- Maintain accurate laboratory asset inventory, including regular verification and updates to the database.
- Ensure proper asset labeling and support with equipment moves, installations, and decommissioning.
- Escort external engineers on site and verify required legal or compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with central services such as waste handling, facilities, and site security to ensure a safe and efficient lab environment.
- Conduct corridor and laboratory walks to identify issues, track overall lab conditions, and ensure housekeeping standards.
- Order non‑capex items that become part of the permanent lab infrastructure.
- Support lab safety checks and internal/external audits.
- Raise awareness of potential hazards and address them appropriately.
- Communicate changes regarding lab policies, consumables, upcoming maintenance, and service downtime (e.g., via newsletters or updates).
- Organize and lead regular operational meetings with the lab community.
- Maintain oversight of maintenance and repair contracts, ensuring timely renewals and correct invoice handling.
- Assist with reagent and repository inventory checks.
- Monitor laboratory equipment utilization and flag redundant or underused items.
- Collect pipettes for calibration and maintain equipment ownership records in shared lab spaces.
- Support internal equipment relocations as needed.
- Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Laboratory Technology, Pharmaceutics, or similar OR equivalent experience in laboratory or technical operations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the chemical sector, or
- At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory or similar technical environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience with or training in database systems (e.g., SAP, inventory systems).
- English – at least B1 (Intermediate) or higher.
