Job Description: Senior Developer (Tableau-SQL-Python)

Project: Origin Data Lake – Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB)

Location: Spain (100% Remote – candidate must be based in Spain)

Role Overview

Virtusa is seeking a Senior Developer (Tableau-SQL-Python) to join the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) team on the Origin Data Lake project. This greenfield initiative is building an in-house data lake solution to serve BI services, Data Science tools, and global trading workflows within SCIB.

The platform ingests near real-time market data from multiple sources, centrally stores it on AWS, and integrates with advanced analytics and visualization tools. As part of a small, agile development team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality ETLs and scalable data solutions that enhance market-making capabilities in the fixed income space.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the software delivery lifecycle: analysis, design, development, testing, and production deployment.
• Own and document technical design and system architecture.
• Collaborate closely with partner technology teams and business sponsors.
• Develop and maintain high-quality ETLs for large-scale data ingestion.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and cost efficiency through decoupled storage and compute.
• Support integration with AWS services (Athena, EMR, QuickSight) and third-party solutions (Spark, Presto, Tableau).
• Execute unit, integration, and regression testing.
• Contribute to Agile planning and delivery.

Technical Skills Required

• Deep expertise in Tableau.
• Strong experience with SQL, Hive, Hadoop.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Pandas, JupyterLab.
• Hands-on experience with AWS ecosystem.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins).
• Solid understanding of Agile development practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Kafka
• AWS EMR (Elastic Map Reduce) for Spark clusters
• Terraform
• Ansible, Bash scripting, boto3
• Advanced CI/CD configuration experience
