Site Manager – Industrial Greenfield EPC Project

About the Role

A leading organisation in the industrial engineering sector is seeking an experienced
Site Manager
to oversee the full on-site construction, installation, and delivery of a major greenfield EPC project in Salamanca. You will lead all multidisciplinary site teams, contractors, and subcontractors across civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, instrumentation, and commissioning scopes. This role is central to the successful delivery of one of the company's flagship capital investments and offers the opportunity to work on a complex, large-scale build from early construction through mechanical completion, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Construction Management

  • Lead and manage all construction, installation, and build activities from the initial site set-up through to project completion.
  • Drive on-site execution plans, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets are achieved.
  • Represent the project at site level and act as the primary interface between contractors, project engineering teams, and senior leadership.

Multidisciplinary Team Oversight

  • Coordinate and supervise all technical disciplines on site including civil, structural, M&E, process, safety, and commissioning personnel.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, labour allocation, resourcing, and daily activity planning.
  • Ensure seamless integration between work packages and construction phases.

Planning, Scheduling & Progress Control

  • Implement daily and weekly construction coordination meetings.
  • Monitor progress against the project schedule and identify constraints, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Control site documentation including drawings, permits, method statements, and inspection records.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce strong HSE culture and compliance with Spanish construction law and EU standards.
  • Oversee site inspections, QA/QC checks, and acceptance criteria for all installed equipment and works.
  • Maintain permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident reporting processes.

Contractor & Supplier Management

  • Lead contractor kick-off, mobilisation, and performance reviews.
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries, lifting operations, storage, and material handling.
  • Support procurement decisions and vendor verification in coordination with the project team.

Commissioning & Hand-Over

  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including punch lists, checksheets, and equipment readiness.
  • Work closely with OEM representatives, installation specialists, and commissioning engineers.
  • Ensure all site works meet handover documentation and quality standards.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience managing greenfield industrial construction projects.
  • Background in at least one of the following sectors:
  • Oil & gas, chemicals, biofuels, distillery, pharmaceutical, process manufacturing, or large industrial EPC builds.
  • Strong track record overseeing multidisciplinary contractor teams on complex construction sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large industrial plant installations from groundworks through mechanical completion.
  • Fluent Spanish; strong English communication skills.
  • Excellent site documentation and construction reporting capabilities.
  • Valid driving licence preferred.
