You will join the Buildings unit, responsible for managing EPCM building projects within the Real Estate sector. Our portfolio includes diverse projects across categories such as residential, hospitality, Data Centers , offices , industrial & logistics.

We are seeking an experienced Buildings Manager specialized in the Data Center subsector. The successful candidate will dedicate at least 50% of their time to Belgium, with a primary location in our Mechelen or Nivelles offices (Belgium), or Madrid (Spain). This position requires full flexibility and availability to travel.

What is the role About?
As a Data Center Manager at IPS, you will actively manage various types of projects, ranging from small security improvements to the complete renovation of all facilities in large server rooms, comissionings, audits feasibilities and complete EPCM projects on the Data center /complex project field. The management of your project can include several phases and/or specializations:

• Project feasibility: building layout, technical space/white space layout, general time planning, purchasing strategy, financial plan, TIER level determination.

• Project preparation phase: investment analysis, basic engineering, TIER checklist, permits, financing and procurement.

• Project implementation phase: project management; detailed engineering, construction management, commissioning management, operational management.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all engineering phases from design to commissioning, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Drive business growth by managing key local and national accounts.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering packages on time and within budget.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, maintaining high quality standards.
  • Lead vendor evaluations and procurement processes.
  • Provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning.
  • Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, and manage change documentation.
  • Build and mentor a skilled team of engineers and trainees.

Requirements
  •  Master's degree in engineering: civil engineer, Architect, electrical engineering/mechanical engineering/electromechanical engineering
  •  10 years of relevant experience with industrial projects, 5 to 7 years of which at critical locations such as data centers, hospitals, military facilities, complex industrial projects.
  •  Strong interest in data centers, sustainability and water treatment and their specific cooling facilities (chiller, loops, DFU, DX, containment, etc.), resilient power (generators, switch cabinets, UPS, distribution) and/or electronics. Very good knowledge of English and French. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.

  •  Experience with European projects and a good knowledge of standards and certificates.
  •  Ability to work independently, as well as strong team and communication skills.
  •  Flexibility, proactivity and ownership are key for this position, as well as business development orientation.
  •  Project management tools expertise (MS Project, Naviswork, BIM 360). Design tools & MEP software for calculations or revision is a nice asset.
