Neurologyca is a deep-tech company specialized in applied neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and advanced analysis of human behavior. We develop proprietary affective computing and human-context intelligence platforms capable of measuring, interpreting, and scaling emotional, cognitive, and behavioral data in real time, combining neuroscience, computer vision, and advanced AI models.

We work with large-scale data, production-grade systems, and architectures designed to evolve and scale over the long term.

Neurologyca is currently in a phase of strategic growth, building the core technological foundation that will support multiple AI-driven products and business lines. We are looking for profiles with a strong product mindset, execution capability, and the motivation to build foundational systems from the ground up.

Overview

  • Hands-on engineering role building the core backend and AI infrastructure for an affective computing and human-context intelligence platform

  • Focused on production systems, platform foundations, and rapid iteration rather than pure research

  • Generalist scope across Python services, LLM integration, agentic workflows, and AWS infrastructure

What You'll Build

  • Python-based backend services that power our AI platform

  • Agentic AI workflows that orchestrate LLM calls, state, memory, and context

  • Integrations with external LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and internal model services

  • Internal and external APIs used by applications, agents, and partners

  • Cloud-deployed services running on AWS (compute, storage, networking, CI/CD)

  • Early platform components that will evolve into long-lived infrastructure

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain backend services in Python

  • Build and operationalize LLM-driven systems beyond prompt-level experimentation

  • Implement agent-style logic (tool use, planning, memory, context injection)

  • Define clean, versioned APIs and service boundaries

  • Deploy and operate services in AWS environments

  • Debug, profile, and harden systems for reliability and scalability

  • Incrementally refactor early systems as the platform matures

Technical Expectations

  • Strong Python fundamentals for backend and AI-adjacent systems

  • Experience working directly with LLM APIs and orchestration patterns

  • Solid understanding of distributed systems basics and API design

  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS

  • Familiarity with async programming, background workers, and data pipelines

  • Comfortable owning services from local dev through production

  • Collaborate closely with product, strategy, and leadership on technical direction

  • Operate with loosely defined requirements and evolving architecture

  • Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, correctness, and scalability

  • Take ownership of systems rather than isolated tasks

Ideal Background

  • Generalist engineer with experience across backend, cloud, and AI integration

  • Startup or early-stage product experience strongly preferred

  • Comfortable building first versions and then iterating toward robustness

Nice to Have

  • Experience with agent frameworks or multi-agent systems

  • Exposure to multimodal pipelines (vision, audio, signals)

  • Experience building developer platforms or AI infrastructure
