ROLE SUMMARY:

The British School, Madrid, a leading British international school, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive Pre-Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. The successful candidate will support the lead teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences, fostering curiosity, and promoting the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our youngest learners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the lead teacher in planning and delivering daily activities for Pre-Nursery children.
  • Assist with the care, supervision, and welfare of children in line with Early Years best practices.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support children's development in key areas including language, social skills, motor skills, and early numeracy.
  • Observe and record children's progress and contribute to assessments as required.
  • Assist with daily routines such as snack times, hygiene, and classroom organization.
  • Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Support school policies regarding safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Previous experience working with young children (Pre-Nursery, Nursery, or Reception) is desirable.
  • Passion for Early Years education and child development.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards young children.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to child safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions, be proactive, and support classroom routines efficiently.
