What you will do
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to design and deliver features that align with business goals.
- Build, maintain, and optimise backend systems, including APIs, databases, and core services.
- Take part in code reviews, offering and accepting feedback to continually raise code quality standards.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture focused on technical growth and excellence.
- Help shape the technical roadmap, ensuring a balance between immediate needs and long-term scalability within an agile, remote-first environment.
What Makes a Great Candidate
- Over 4 years of experience developing in Python using frameworks such as Django or FastAPI, with a strong background in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Skilled in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
- Brings hands-on experience from startup or early-stage environments, comfortable taking projects from concept to production.
- Familiar with modern DevOps tools like Pulumi, Kubernetes, and AWS, and experienced in setting up CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Thrives in collaborative settings, working closely with product and design teams while taking ownership of major parts of the codebase.
