Software Engineer – Data Platform

My client is an exciting growth semiconductor technology company, with customers including NASA and Airbus, who are continuing to grow as they achieve more and more success.
They are looking to hire an experienced Software Engineer to take a lead role in designing and building their data platform.
This will enable them to have robust data pipelines and systems that ensure complete traceability of data from their manufacturing tools and processes. This role is critical for enabling data-driven decision-making and ensuring compliance with security and quality standards.
Working closely with the CTO & CEO, you will be responsible for designing and building and implementing a cloud-based data platform. Technology and tool selection is also a key part of this role.
Key Skills/experience Required
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, dbt)
- Expertise in Python or Scala for data processing
- Experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3), Azure (Data Factory, Synapse), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
- Data Security: Knowledge of encryption, IAM, and compliance frameworks
- Version Control & CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes or similar tools
Experience of working as a Data Architect or Data Engineer would be a significant advantage
Experience of manufacturing systems/processes would also be a distinct advantage.
This is a hybrid role based in San Sebastian, Spain.
