The MLT/MLS position is part of the Laboratory Department and is a contingent role working as available, with variable shift responsibility Monday through Friday and weekend/holiday rotation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited MLT program preferred; hospital experience preferred

  • Phlebotomy experience preferred with the ability to perform procedures independently

  • Valid Ohio Driver's License

  • Strong communication skills with a focus on accuracy, detail, and confidentiality

  • Comfortable using computers and online systems; above-average typing and internet skills

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines

  • Exhibits professionalism, personal integrity, and excellent customer service skills

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Adaptable to ongoing technology changes and departmental needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws, specimen collection, and patient transport

  • Assist with UDTs, clerical duties, and occasional lab courier services

  • Operate office and laboratory equipment including computers, faxes, scanners, and analyzers

  • Coordinate a variety of procedures and perform efficiently under stress

  • Answer department phones and assist callers under supervision

  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to all departmental standards
