Job Description
The Soil and Groundwater Remediation team is part of AECOM's Environment and Sustainability Department, which has been operating in Spain for more than 40 years. We are a team of over 65 professionals from various disciplines, based in offices in Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao.

Our services cover the entire project life cycle, from the design and execution of subsurface quality characterization to the implementation and operation of decontamination systems, sustainable dismantling, and site restoration.

We are looking to hire a passionate Project Manager with experience in the technical, financial, and administrative management of environmental remediation projects. As a
Remediation Project Manager or Project Lead
, you will work with a diverse team of technical consultants across a broad range of practice areas, delivering remediation consulting, design, and implementation services to our key clients.

Based in our offices in Madrid, Barcelona, or Bilbao, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Comprehensive project management: From preparing and coordinating technical and financial proposals to executing subsurface investigation and characterization campaigns.
  • Design and supervision: Designing investigation and site characterization campaigns, participating in the design of remediation measures, and coordinating the supervision of works, implementation, and operation of decontamination systems.
  • Data analysis and reporting: Processing data, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports.
  • Health and safety: Implementing health and safety requirements in all projects.
  • Team management: Coordinating staff and preparing financial reports.
  • Billing and subcontractors: Managing invoicing and subcontractor relationships.
  • Client relations: Commercial management within the scope of the projects.

Qualifications
What are we looking for?

A professional with a strong technical background in the environmental investigation/remediation consulting industry, who is also an experienced Environmental Project Manager and is interested in growing their career by supporting our operations with business development activities.

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or Engineering (Environmental, Forestry, Mining, Agronomic, or similar).
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management is essential, along with more than 8 years of overall experience in the environmental remediation consulting industry (private or public).
  • Previous experience working on soil and groundwater remediation projects including: field sampling, data analysis, report writing, cost estimation and proposal development, project implementation and execution.
  • Languages: Spanish fluency and upper-intermediate English (written and spoken).
  • Driver's license and availability to travel nationally as part of the role.
  • Health & Safety: Training in occupational risk prevention and knowledge of specific software for quantitative human health risk assessment.
  • Good to know and use GIS tools and databases.
  • Knowledge in UNE-EN ISO 17020 standards.

  • High attention to detail and effective time management, ensuring quality outcomes and thoroughness in all project phases.
