SpliceBio is a genetic medicines company (biotech) harnessing its proprietary Protein Splicing platform to develop the next generation of gene therapies. Our mission is to develop novel genetic medicines to treat patients suffering from uncurable diseases by delivering any genes using Protein Splicing. Our platform is based on technology developed in the Muir Lab at Princeton University after more than 20 years of pioneering intein and protein engineering research. JOB SUMMARY

We are looking to hire an experienced Technician who will play a crucial role in supporting scientific research and development activities within the laboratory. She/he will technically support early pre-clinical projects in SpliceBio's ophthalmology pipeline, including proof-of-concept in vitro and in vivo activities for the development of novel ocular gene therapies. In this capacity, she/he will be in charge of executing experimental designs by applying scientific knowledge and quantitative methods analysis, as well as supporting overall work in the Pre-Clinical department. She/He will work closely with Scientists and team members across different departments and functions to ensure the successful execution of experiments and adherence to protocols and SOPs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process
  in vitro
  samples and perform analysis using a wide array of quantitative bioanalytical methods including but not limited to: western blot, protein capillary electrophoresis, FACS, and plate-based assays
• Maintain and passage immortalized cell lines.
• Perform
  in vitro
  experiments, including cell-based studies.
• Execute laboratory experiments following established protocols and instructions from senior staff.
• Collect, analyze and represent data using relevant tools, techniques and softwares, contributing insights to support ongoing research.
• Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records, ensuring all experiments are properly documented.
• Support preparation of scientific reports, summarizing experimental outcomes and findings, ensuring clarity and completeness.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth execution of experiments, maintaining an understanding of timelines and objectives.
• Collaborate with Scientists and other Laboratory Technicians to troubleshoot experimental issues and suggest improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, assisting in the training of new staff in safety procedures when necessary.

Experience / Key Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences)
• 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with demonstrated ability to perform molecular biology and biochemistry experiments and data analysis.
• Experience in cell culture.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
• Proficient in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
• High attention to detail: precision in experiments, data collection, and reporting.
• Ability to manage tasks efficiently and maintain a well-structured laboratory environment.
• Proactive in identifying and resolving experimental issues.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Flexible and able to adjust to changing tasks and priorities in a dynamic research setting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Prior experience with electronic lab otebook and statistical analysis softwares is desirable but not required.
• Native Spanish. Business proficiency in English (verbal and written).
