ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As a Lead Architect – Borders Portfolio Architect, you will not only bring expertise in future trends, emerging cloud technologies, customer centric thinking and design thinking, but also play a critical role in driving transformation and innovation within Information Services. Being able to successfully support its wider vision, it requires the ability of Continuous development: Tech curiosity and Customer-Centric Thinking & Thought Leadership.

In this role you will shape the technical strategy and architectural direction of SITA's border management and border control products. This role is pivotal in supporting government agencies and authorities by optimising operational efficiency, enhancing security, and driving innovation across the portfolio.

You will collaborate with senior leaders, product teams, technical owners, architects, and security experts to ensure the portfolio is aligned with SITA's strategic goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Define and lead the technical strategy for the Borders portfolio in partnership with the CTO.
• Develop documentation and review documentation
• Represent design decisions at the Software Design Authority.
• Assess portfolio-level change requests.
• Collaborate with product teams on design and technical debt.
• Lead threat modelling and security documentation.
• Drive capability modelling.
• Define architectural guiderails.
• Support consulting architects.
• Contribute to M&A technical assessments.

Qualifications:

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

• Demonstrated ability in future trends by anticipating technology and industry shifts and translating them into enterprise architecture directions that support long-term business strategy
• Demonstrated ability in customer centric thinking by ensuring architectural decisions are driven by real customer needs and measurable business outcomes
• Demonstrated ability in design thinking by structuring complex problems into clear solution options that balance user experience, business objectives, and technical constraints
• Experienced in guiding stakeholders through change, using outstanding stakeholder management skills to align diverse perspectives and achieve results.
• You have about 10 years experience in the IT field
• Ability to develop and execute portfolio-level architecture strategies.
• Hybrid solution design expertise.
• Strong track record in security-by-design principles.
• Experience navigating regulatory environments.
• Exceptional collaboration across teams.
• Expertise in cloud, containers, and identity systems.
• Knowledge of border control and immigration processes.
• Strong stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication skills.

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Experience with government security agencies.
• Knowledge of biometric or passenger data systems.
• Cloud architecture certifications.
