Quaderno is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented 
Junior Tax Specialist
 to join our team. You will be instrumental in helping our global user base navigate the world of international tax compliance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to build a foundational career in a fast-paced, global FinTech environment and become a subject matter expert in e-commerce tax compliance.

What you'll be doing

This is a hands-on role where you will be directly supporting our users and staying ahead of the constantly changing tax landscape. Your main focus will be:

• Global Compliance Support:
   Helping Quaderno users understand their tax obligations and successfully register and file indirect taxes (VAT, GST, Sales Tax) in various jurisdictions worldwide.
• Tax Research & Knowledge:
   Proactively monitoring, researching, and staying up to date on major international tax news, legislation changes, and emerging requirements that affect e-commerce businesses.
• Documentation & Education:
   Translating complex tax rules into clear, actionable advice and updating our internal knowledge base and external resources (help docs, blog posts) to reflect current compliance requirements.
• Product Input:
   Collaborating with our Product and Engineering teams, offering expert tax guidance to ensure Quaderno's platform remains accurate and compliant globally.
• User Communication:
   Answering user queries related to international tax rules and Quaderno's tax calculations and reporting.

Who we're looking for

We are seeking a candidate who is deeply interested in the field of international indirect taxes and possesses the following traits and qualifications:

Must-haves

• Tax Interest:
   A demonstrable interest in international indirect taxes (VAT, GST, Sales Tax) and a strong desire to become a specialist in this area.
• Research Skills:
   Proven ability to research complex legal and regulatory documents and synthesize information accurately and clearly.
• Communication Skills:
   Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of explaining technical tax concepts simply.
• Proactivity:
   A self-starter who can take full ownership of tax research tasks and proactively suggest improvements to our processes and knowledge base.
• Detail Orientation:
   A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is crucial for tax compliance.

Nice to have

• A degree or background in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a tax, accounting, or compliance role, particularly within a cross-border or international context.
• Familiarity with the e-commerce or SaaS business model.
• Proficiency in languages other than English.
