Job Description
Katalist is seeking a Fullstack Engineer with over 5 years of experience developing full stack web applications.

This role is ideal for engineers with strong backend and frontend skills who are also comfortable working with AI technologies and architecting solutions from end to end.

The position is full-time and remote, with potential for a long-term contract if located in or relocating to Barcelona.

  • To Note: This is for an immediate project need intended to start in December. Candidates should be readily available to onboard, if selected.
  • To Note: This role is required to be onsite at our Barcelona office.
  • To Note: Hourly rate range is in USD per hour. Final rate will be determined by the hiring manager based on candidate experience, seniority, and overall fit.

*Responsibilities:*

  • Build and maintain full stack web applications using Python and TypeScript.
  • Design and implement backend services with FastAPI, ensuring async and type-safe code.
  • Develop frontend applications using or React.
  • Work with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL.
  • Integrate and interact with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI) and perform prompt engineering.
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications and architecture.

*Requirements:*

  • 5+ years of experience in full stack development.
  • Proficiency in Python (especially FastAPI with async and type safety).
  • Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks / React).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working with LLM APIs and prompt engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect technical solutions based on product needs.
  • Experience mentoring or managing other engineers is a plus.
  • Willingness to work remotely, with preference for candidates based in or open to relocating to Barcelona.
