Software Manager

As an Embedded Software Manager, you will lead the Software team to deliver robust, scalable and high-performance embedded solutions that power BOLD's advanced battery systems. Ensure software projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards, while fostering team growth, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration with other engineering areas.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Team Leadership & Development

Lead, coach and support the Software Engineering team.

Foster a culture of ownership, learning, and technical excellence.

Conduct performance reviews, set individual goals and identify development opportunities.

• Software Strategy & Roadmap

Define and maintain the software development roadmap aligned with project and business priorities.

Drive the adoption of best practices, tools, and methodologies.

Ensure compliance with automotive standards and functional safety where applicable.

• Project Management & Delivery

Ensure planning, tracking and delivery of software projects within scope, time and budget.

Coordinate with Program Managers, Technical Leads and Systems Engineers to align project execution.

Manage risks and proactively resolve blockers.

• Cross-functional Collaboration

Act as the main interface between the Software team and other engineering functions (hardware, systems, validation, etc.).

Support technical discussions with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders when needed.

• Technical Oversight

Review and challenge architecture and design decisions.

Guide problem-solving and critical debugging efforts.

Promote code quality, testing and documentation standards.

What You Bring- Education & Experience

• Degree or Master in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• 8-10+ years of experience in automotive software engineering.

• Hands-on experience in embedded software development.

• Technical Skills

• Embedded software development (C/C++)

• System architecture
• Development processes (V-model, Agile)
• Software quality and safety standards

• Languages

• Proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and their functional blocks.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB or Simulink for analysis or automation.
• Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262), defense standards (AQAP, MIL-STD) or aerospace software processes.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
