Job Description
We are looking for an
Senior Finance & Accounting
based in
MADRID
The Senior Finance & Accounting acts as a key finance partner for the Spanish entity, ensuring high-quality accounting, accurate financial closes, and strong compliance with statutory and group requirements. This role plays a critical part in recording complex transactions, reconciling balances, and supporting external audits within a fast-growing, international renewable energy company.

The role reports directly to the Europe Controller and works closely with international GL, AP, and AR teams

Role Overview
The Senior Finance & Accounting owns core accounting activities for the Europe entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information. The role is hands-on, technically strong, and provides a solid foundation for future development into broader financial analysis and business-facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Managing and actively participating in monthly and annual financial closes
• Recording, reviewing, and assessing complex accounting transactions
• Performing balance sheet and transaction reconciliations
• Ensuring compliance with statutory accounting and local GAAP
• Acting as a key finance contact during external audits
• Coordinating with international GL, AP, and AR teams to ensure data accuracy
• Supporting improvements in accounting processes and controls
• Contributing to the consistency and quality of financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar
• 3–6 years of experience, ideally from Audit (Big6 or similar)
• Strong technical accounting background
• Fluent English and Spanish (daily use required)
• Experience in an international or multi-entity environment is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously in a growing and changing environment
