Position Type: Permanent Full-Time

DATA4'S MISSION

DATA4 creates Smart & Scalable digital facilities for our customers. Our network of highly connected, resilient and sustainable data center campuses underpins our customers' digital growth in Europe.

DATA4 Group finances, designs, constructs and operates its own data centers. Delivered through our data center campus model, we provide our customers with secure, scalable and high-performance data hosting solutions.

DATA4 VALUES

At DATA4 we are driven by our values. These are the core of everything we do – from the proactivity we show in delivering great outcomes for our clients, to the responsibility we show as a key contributor to the digital economy. Our three values are:

  • To be entrepreneurial – we are teams of doers who make things happen - with autonomy, energy and a sense of responsibility
  • To always take responsibility – for our impact on the people we work with, the society we are part of, and the environment in which we operate
  • To constantly be adaptable – our business is designed to adapt, answering not only today's challenges, but also anticipating what's coming next

About The Role
The Site Reliability Engineer - Digital Operations Transformation Specialist is a key technical contributor within DATA4's Global Operations Transformation team. This role is responsible for designing, integrating, and maintaining digital tools and platforms that enhance automation, operational visibility, and data-driven decision-making across our data center environments.

You will operate at the intersection of engineering, operations, and data, working closely with cross-functional teams to connect and optimize core operational systems. These include Building Management Systems (BMS) for environmental and facility monitoring, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for asset tracking and preventive maintenance, and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platforms for incident, request, and change workflows.

In addition, you will leverage analytics platforms to deliver dashboards and reports that improve real-time visibility into operational performance.

The role focuses on building lightweight, practical solutions—such as scripts, integrations, data pipelines, queries, and dashboards—that enable field teams and operations leaders to work more efficiently. You will identify areas where automation can reduce manual effort, improve process consistency, and deliver measurable outcomes. This includes developing and maintaining custom tooling, configuring interfaces between platforms, and creating supporting documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Success in this role requires strong technical fluency, an understanding of facility operations, and a pragmatic engineering mindset. You should be comfortable working in high-availability environments, translating operational requirements into digital solutions, and supporting systems that directly impact performance, compliance, and energy efficiency across our data centers.

Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Delivery

  • Design and implement automation workflows and data pipelines to replace manual, repetitive tasks
  • Develop scripts, internal tools, and custom dashboards using platforms such as Grafana, Power BI, and Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Deliver and support integrations between systems such as CMMS, BMS, and ITSM
  • Conduct data validation, root cause analysis, and anomaly detection on operational data
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration templates

Systems Integration & Tooling

  • Build and maintain lightweight application programming interfaces (APIs), scripts, and tool connectors to bridge system silos
  • Develop queries and automation logic to support key operational indicators including:

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Incident trends and reliability analysis

  • Ensure technical implementation aligns with global operations transformation strategy and tooling roadmap

Documentation & Communication

  • Write and maintain clean, structured technical documentation to support internal users and audits
  • Document use cases, design decisions, and performance metrics for developed solutions
  • Track adoption, performance, and operational impact of delivered tools and enhancements

Ims Certification Responsibilities
As part of DATA4's Integrated Management System (IMS) compliance framework, the role will support the following domains through tooling and technical contribution:

  • IMS (Integrated Management System): Drive continuous improvement of our operational systems through measurable enhancements and digitization
  • Health & Safety: Ensure that platforms comply with safety event reporting and are auditable for regulatory reviews
  • Environment: Support visibility into environmental performance, including emissions and sustainability metrics
  • Information Security: Apply secure coding practices, control access to sensitive data, and ensure systems align with ISO/IEC 27001 principles
  • Energy Management: Enhance monitoring of consumption and performance through dashboards and system-level telemetry

Requirements
Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, data engineering, DevOps, or related technical roles
  • Proven experience working in mission-critical, high-availability environments, such as data centers, manufacturing, or industrial automation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field

Technical Skills (Required)

  • Proficient in scripting and querying: Python, SQL, InfluxQL/Flux, and similar
  • Hands-on experience with CMMS and ITSM platforms (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, MCIM)
  • Skilled in data visualization using tools like Grafana, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Strong understanding of APIs, data formats (JSON, XML), and basic operating system diagnostics (Linux and Windows)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Building Management System (BMS) protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, or OPC
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting frameworks such as Prometheus, Zabbix, or equivalent
