About the Role

Join us as Deputy Manager, Private Assets Services at AIA Investment Management

AIA intends to significantly increase its exposure to private assets and as a result, is designing and implementing the infrastructure and support needed to service this increased scale and complexity.

The position will work in a team with responsibility for providing day to day transactions and operational support for AIAIM’s private investment on an individual and collective basis, including in response to changes in market practices or investment vehicles as well as participating in project initiatives involving private asset investments.

Responsibilities

1. This position will ensure operational functions for private asset investments are performed on a timely and accurate basis. This includes, but not limited to:

- Participate in General Partner (GP) onboarding activities for new fund investments such as preparation of subscription forms, KYC pack, commitment agreement and FATCA/CRS declarations;
- Collect GP and fund data for handling of new investments set-up in Front Office and Middle Office Systems;
- Update the GP onboarding log and monitor the GP onboarding process to ensure subscription packs are completed accurately and submitted for execution to meet the closing due dates;
- Ensure executed Fund documents, revised and amended fund documents, GP commitment acknowledgements etc. are stored in SharePoint;
- Collate KYC documents from internal clients/investors
- Maintain user access to GP Portals and GP contact list;
- Act as contact point with GPs to address queries, additional KYC document requests, etc. from GPs;
- Maintain data and user access maintenance in the Middle Office System;
- Track commitments and handling related fund audits;
- Perform periodic refresh of AML/KYC for GP funds

2. Work closely with the Private Assets portfolio management teams, Company’s internal clients/investors, external managers/GPs and service providers to ensure that services are being performed and are meeting expectations. Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner, issues are handled or escalated to next level.

3. Support Head of Investment Services and Head of Private Assets Services to implement the target state support model for private investments, as well as identify additional opportunities to enhance processes and workflows, improve efficiencies, and minimize operational risks.

4. Work with the team in establishing and maintaining proper process documentation in alignment with the operational control environment

5. Participate in, contribute to, and provide support to Group and Company projects involving private asset investments.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Banking and Finance or related.
- At least 3 years work experience in an asset management company or private asset general partnership or fund administrator in the management/administration of private investments. Work experience in GP and investor onboarding or due diligence is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end investment processes, controls and technologies for private assets.
- Knowledge of how fund vehicles such as SICAV or Singapore unit trusts/VCC operate is an advantage.
- Ability to design and implement new or enhanced processes and controls.
- Capable of preparing financial/business analysis and presentations.
- Strong communication skills, team orientated, dedicated and open-minded working attitude.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experienced in eFront system is a plus.
