**The role: Delivery/Payroll Manager**
A Payroll Manager is reporting to the HRO Manager and is leading a team of Subject Matter Experts (Tier 2) and/or Service Center Agents (Tier 1), which has to provide HR administration and Payroll services for outsourced clients.
**Responsibilities**
As manager of the day to day local HRO activities for his client(s), the Payroll Manager has following business responsibilities:
- Act as the main HRO interface for internal and external contacts (AMO (Team) Managers, Social Law Advisors and client representatives)
- Ensure payroll processes are performed in due time and validate payroll before payment
- Provide leadership, coaching and assistance to team members in their day-to-day activities
- Handle exceptions and complex tickets regarding payroll escalated by Subject Matter Experts
- Analyze and approve feasibility of change requests and provide workload estimations to the client
- Conduct regular team meetings as well as regular reviews of open issues or change requests with AMO and HRO and regularly report to the HRO Manager and HRO Service Delivery Managers
- Monitor tickets status to meet SLA’s and escalate whenever appropriate
- Have a thorough knowledge of contract scope, coordinate and communicate issues, and initiate follow-up with the team, HRO Service Delivery Management and HRO Management
- Manage the resources allocation within the team in order to guarantee the continuity of the service to the clients as contractually agreed
- Participate in the development of innovative and proactive methods to assist the team in achieving performance standards
- Guarantee that the team is actively following up on updates in employment law
- Regularly control quality assurance (QA) on team members’ work
- Participate in the development of the HRO department and to the ongoing process of improvement
- For his specific client, the Payroll manager also provides support to the Service Delivery Manager by:
- Preparing and participating in regular local service delivery meetings with his client
- Looking for possible improvement of the services provided
- Managing operational issues: analyze the root causes and possible remediation
- Representing operational excellence towards his client and ensuring operations delivery according to the contract
- Making sure all SAS70 HRO duties are respected
- Preparing specific operational reports
**Technical skills**
- Bachelor or Master degree with an HR or Business emphasis, or equivalent
- Be an expert in SAP HR, or in payroll processes and employment law
- Have prior client service experience
- Possess a strong client focus and sense of accountability
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel )
- Experience in coordinating and managing a team is a strong asset
**Personal skills**:
- Ability to multi-task, to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment, and to consistently achieve quality standards
- Strong sense of integrity with an awareness of confidentiality and diplomacy
- Highly self-motivated and flexible in all interactions with the team as well as with clients
- Be accurate in terms of quality and respect of deadlines
- Ability to train and mentor team members and act as a positive role model in all interactions while remaining approachable, objective, respectful and resourceful
- Guarantee knowledge transfer within the team, by delegating and demonstrating
- Ability to identify the expectations and needs of the team members, and to stimulate them
- Ability to set targets to the team members (targets should be challenging but achievable)
- Strong prioritization, organization and follow-up skills
- Be a good analyzer and problem solver
- Ability to plan and conduct team meetings
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be an assertive communicator and convey concepts and information in a clear, honest, structured and diplomatic manner; listen actively and with empathy
- Capacity to act professionally in difficult situations and to take appropriate actions if/when necessary
- Be fluent in English
