About the team you are joining

What your day would be like

You will work closely with the airport experts in both the Region and in the Centre, and in coordination with the Global Airports Working Group, the Regional Airport Steering Group, and the Regional Safety and Flight Operations Coordination group to identify and develop agreed strategies for specific airport campaigns following global standards and guidelines;
You will participate actively in the Airport operational improvement initiatives and future campaigns;
You will provide expert support to airlines and engage constructively with senior industry stakeholders including airport owners/operators, governments, the European Commission and regulators, to ensure airport capital expenditure is demand driven, cost effective, prioritized and addresses airline’s needs on capacity/resilience enhancement projects;
You will work with airport authorities and states to advocate for appropriate consultation on CAPEX programs and Master plans addressing airline requirements at major airports, that are identified and prioritized by the Regional management and other regional groups and IATA country offices as necessary;
You will support the global team in the development of best practice guidance material and standard development (including ADRM development) as well as forecasting capabilities;
You will conduct fact finding missions to determine underlying rationale, scale, and cost of proposed airport development / capacity enhancement programs in the Region and work closely with the Airport Charges team and with the regional flight operations team on the efficiency of investments programs;
You will clearly document findings and recommendations for airline review and feedback to be embedded within European regional strategy;
You will support other divisional initiatives including Commercial Products & Services consulting, Regional External Affairs & Sustainability, IATA Training and Safety and Flight Operations safety campaigns.

We would love to hear from you if

You have a University degree in Economics, engineering or equivalent technical standard for an airport design engineer / architect with Economics proficiency; suitable experience may be considered in lieu of professional qualification;
You have a minimum of 10 years project management experience with airport charges and/or operation with airlines and airport authorities;
You have substantial experience working at senior level to develop strategies and secure buy-in to implement industry standards. Recommended expertise in regard to ICAO guidance and policies, ADRM, Airport operations, ACDM, capacity planning experience;
You are highly motivated with proven teamwork abilities;
You are a self-starter approach with ability to proactively engage with stakeholders and progress work goals;
You have excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholder;
You have experience in making clear presentations and preparing reports based on technical merits and facts;
You are proficient in Microsoft Office, and

You are fluent in both written and spoken English; other languages would be an asset.
