Academic Officer

**Teaching Unit**

The Teaching Unit promotes and develops academic activity at VHIR, promoting the creation of new teaching initiatives and channeling the training opportunities that arise from the scientific and clinical community of VHIR. The unit is also in charge of providing support and advice to students and professors about academic issues, as well as coordinating the orientation procedures and academic organisation in order to guarantee the correct development of the studies, and the compliance with normative and quality guidelines.
- We are currently looking for a highly motivated **Academic Officer** to join our team.

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (preferred) or Humanities.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required**:

- Proven experience organising courses, workshops and other educational initiatives.
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and English.

**Desired**:

- Complementary training in the field of education and academic programmes management: instructional design, learning methodologies, e-learning, etc.
- General knowledge of Academic Affairs issues and Training Quality processes, especially in a University environment.
- Good command of Learning Management Systems (i.e. Moodle).
- Good IT and communication skills.
- Personal skills: well-organised, methodical and results-oriented person. Capacity to work in team and meet tight deadlines. Flexible and people-oriented.

**Main responsibilities and duties**:

- Collaborate in the design and development of VHIR training activities for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students.
- Manage and monitor the admission processes for incoming students who perform research internships at VHIR: i) publication of offers, ii) recruitment and selection; iii) educational collaboration agreements; and iii) incorporation, monitoring and departure.
- Give support to academic management tasks related to courses and master programmes: registration, admissions, enrolment, schedules, certificates, etc.
- Provide technical support to the VHIR PhD Committee, specially by boosting training and networking initiatives among PhD student’s community.
- Provide personalised support to students, professors and researchers on academic issues.
- Any other duties related to the job as requested to contribute to the general functioning of the Teaching Unit.

**Labour conditions**:

- Full-time position: 40 h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
