**JOB DESCRIPTION AND DEPENDENCY**

Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Business Controller is responsible for providing accurate as well as timely support and advice on a worldwide level in Business and Finance initiatives. As Senior Business Controller, you'll be at the forefront of expanding our market presence by leading financial planning, analysis, accounting, treasury, pricing, taxes, funding, PMO and other commercial finance activities. The accounting team reports directly to the Senior Business Controller.

**ACTIVITIES**

The duties and responsibilities include:

- Lead Financial Planning and Analysis, and Pricing/Margin initiatives across the whole organization both revenues and expenses (Capex and Opex).
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
- Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Lead Business Programs as PMO, understanding potential grants from public institutions, developing NPV, IRR and Payback models to assess program feasibility, monitoring, accounting and reporting monthly financials (Capex and Opex) internally and to public institutions by liaising with all related parties.
- Identify and implement Capex opportunities.
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
- Implement and develop financial reporting infrastructure aligned to Shareholders, Board and Exco expectations.
- Lead and successfully complete group and standalone annual financial audit on agreed timelines.
- Help develop and support short-and long-term operational strategies.
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
- Ensure tax and accounting regulatory deadlines are properly timely fulfilled.
- Review of monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
- Weekly monitoring and reporting of Collections, Payments and Cashflow assessment by currency for 90 days planning
- Monitoring of FX exposures and regular conversion of EUR USD. Implement FX strategy.
- Ensure monthly cash availability for payroll and taxes on due time.
- Support funding initiatives both public and private.
- Develop, implement and lead annual budget and 5 year financial planning.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to IFRS and local legal accounting standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Taking part in M&A process (VDRs, draft and review of NDA, LOI, due diligence, shareholders’ agreements and share purchase agreements, integration);
- Working with other team members on particular projects such as policies, processes, etc.

**EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
- Master’s degree in Business Administration would be a plus.
- **Approx 10+ years of work experience** in a related field in a Big4 or an international company. Spanish and English (both fluent speaking and writing).

**SKILLS**
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax and accounting regulations and compliance reporting
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate recommendations and options about complex legal issues.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, lead strategically and advance innovative solutions.
- Ability to grasp complex business areas timely and accurately.
- Ability to do research and work on different local regulations.
- Ability to balance priorities and organize work effectively to meet deadlines.
- Problem solving skills and ability to work in an international business environment.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, team player and able to work independently.
- Interpersonal managing skills: capable of managing a network of international employees and contractors (e.g. Europe, USA, China)
- Leadership. Business instincts/sales skills. Negotiation skills.
- International experience (e.g. living abroad at least 1-2 years) a plus.
- Project management skills a plus
