HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION (INVESTMENT FIRM)

At LHH Executive we are currently working with an international Real Estate Investment Firm specialized in assets under management that is currently looking for a Head of Construction.

Reporting to the Country Head and based in Barcelona (or Madrid), the responsibilities will include to:

- Support the investment and business development team pursuing new opportunities
- Act as the owner's representative managing all the activities associated to development and execution of projects, including green field and refurbishments of existing assets
- Ensure the management of design, permitting, tenders, contracts, ESG, QHSE, planning, cost control and other key work activities as part of the development projects
- Lead a Construction Management Team of at least 4 people, overseeing large and complex projects
- Mentor and promote career development for the team in alignment with the company leadership principles
- Interface with the conceptual construction group, assisting in drawing and specification preparation as well as reviewing pricing and construction contracts
- Monitor contractors in relation to cost, schedule and program and administer contractor progress payments
- Prepare project updates in relation to project, construction, cost estimation, budget and any possible changes

We are looking for a person with at least twelve years of experience, including management roles and having been responsible for large and complex projects. Ideally you should bring a Bachelor
- s Degree in Construction Science or Engineering, having been exposed to multiple asset class projects (residential, office, retail, logistics, etc). It is important that you have a proactive approach anticipating potential risks and making sure the team is aligned and performing to a high standard. High quality and effective communication skills are required, both in Spanish and in English.
