Chief Architect

Celonis Labs is the think tank for future innovation and emerging technologies in Execution Management. Our team consists of Software Engineers, Innovation Architects, Product Owners, Emerging Technology Researchers, and Innovation Engineers. We are passionate about evangelizing a transformative vision for Celonis’ new solutions including fostering co-innovation with customers and partners. We are currently seeking a Chief Architect to join us on this mission working for one of our key co-inventor partners, Emporix, on exciting cloud-based enterprise e-commerce software.

As a Chief Architect at Emporix, you will make high-level decisions about each stage of the process and work closely with the engineering team to create the final product.

**The work you'll do**:

- Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies
- Designing multi-tenant architecture solutions that are in line with long-term business objectives
- Design and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems
- Deliver architectural initiatives that drive revenue and improve efficiency inline with business strategy
- Cultivate relationships with IT management
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organisation's technologies and architectures
- Develop and maintain current and planned state architectural blueprints
- Develop and maintain an aspirational architectural roadmap for the enterprise
- Develop architectural metrics and reports for the executive team, business and IT management
- Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies
- Analyse suitability of Third-party Software solutions to OEM and augment Emporix own offering
- Provide architectural consulting to programs, projects and initiatives
- Support business and IT strategic planning
- Support product development teams
- Act as the focal point for enterprise architecture and IT standards
- Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions

**The qualifications you need**:

- Solid understanding of a variety of programming tools and development platforms
- Sound knowledge of cloud-native, enterprise software architecture and experience with Big 3 Cloud platforms (preferably GCP)
- Familiarity with modern data stacks, including data lakes, process mining, ML. and emerging data technologies (e.g. Spark, Redshift, Hive, Pig etc).
- Expertise with cloud technologies, cloud services, and key cloud services providers in the data space is desirable
- Experience with NoSQL database technology (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchDB etc.)
- Experience with Relational database technology (e.g. Postgresql/Mysql)
- Experience with messaging and streaming middleware (e.g. Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Experience with Enterprise Search solutions (e.g. Elastic/OpenSearch, SOLR, Algolia)
- Experience with automation solutions and workflow management (e.g. Camunda, Cadence, Netflix Conductor)
- Experience of CI/CD processes
- Experience of Serveless and Containerised Deployments
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience in a similar architecture role
- Experience building enterprise architecture roadmaps
- Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions
- Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology
- Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirements
- Ability to solve challenging technical problems and lead a small team working in a remote capacity
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details
- Open to cooperate with international IT partners and customers
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
