**Working Pattern**: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

SSE Renewables entered the Spanish market in 2022. We have offices in Madrid, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santiago de Compostela.

We're progressing a 908MW secured pipeline of onshore wind development projects in Spain. This represents our largest onshore market opportunity outside our core UK and Ireland markets. This development portfolio includes 64MW already in construction at our Jubera I and II onshore wind projects in La Rioja which together are targeting commissioning at the end of 2025.

The portfolio also includes 127MW of late-stage onshore wind projects at development site locations in Castilla y Leon and Aragón. In addition to our secured pipeline we have a ~1.6GW pipeline of future prospect onshore wind and solar projects.

**About the Role**:
SSE Renewables has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Public and Regulatory Affairs for Spain. We are looking for someone to lead on regulatory issues and engagement with key stakeholders, including government officials and ministers at national and regional level, regulators, trade associations, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations.
- Build and maintain strong working level relationships with key external stakeholders including: politicians at national and regional level, government officials, government agencies, regulators, trade associations and non-governmental organisations.
- Gather and analyse up to date intelligence on political, governmental, regulator and key influencer activities in Spain in order provide policy and regulatory advice to SSE Renewables management.
- Support project teams with developing and executing impactful communications and stakeholder engagement plans needed to achieve timely progress of key projects.
- Closely monitor and assess regulatory changes that affect operation of SSE Renewables’ assets in Spain, including related to industry codes and operation of the various electricity markets. You will also create & execute a plan which will help build the public profile for SSE Renewables, highlighting the values and positive contributions of the company, our experience, ambitions and people.
- To ensure all stakeholder activity is suitably communicated and recorded and compile regular reports measuring both the outputs against plans and outcomes against objectives.

**What do I need?**

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- In depth understanding and experience of the Spanish energy sector, including the process for development of and investment in renewable energy projects;

**About our Business**

Our Corporate Affairs, Regulation & Strategy (CARS) function combines three quite separate but intrinsically linked businesses, with a shared focus on advising, influencing and communicating SSE's strategy and interests with key stakeholders. This involves the interpretation of complex political and regulatory changes, skilled lobbying to inform the future energy ecosystem, and innovative communication techniques to ensure SSE's story is reached by a broad range of audiences including investors, competitors, governments, partners, suppliers, communities, and both current and prospective employees.

**What's in it for you?**

**What happens now?**

Before commencing your role with SSE, you'll need to complete our pre-employment screening process. This will consist of a criminality and credit check.
