Business Analyst

The BA role works is an integral part of the Product team. The main responsibilities are the analysis of customer needs and requirements which are documented as detailed functional requirements for the development/SCRUM team(s). The role supports the business stakeholders with product specific expertise and makes sure documentation and user guides for both internal and external users are created and kept up to date.
The role includes acceptance testing and approving new functionality on behalf of business stakeholders and works closely with the development team to ensure the functionality built matches the requirements given, as well as documentation of processes and deliverables. The BA must focus on the delivery and making sure the quality of the delivery is as promised.
The Product team is the link between users, the business and the technology team.
**Responsibilities**
- Research, identify, and specify requirements to business, operational, or customer problems.
- Translate high-level objectives provided by customers into testable, measurable, functional specifications.
- Create and maintain all types of documents, including file specifications, business process descriptions, user guides.
- Problem solving through issues and challenges and communicate the results.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and lead these improvement efforts with other departments to resolve process issues.
- Prepare materials for leading successful requirements gathering sessions.
- Collaborate with product, project, and development managers.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to elicit, document, and refine business and functional requirements.
- Engage with various departments to gain validation and insight.
- Collaborate with other SMEs and technical leads on identifying and designing the solution.
- Manage, update, and communicate evolving requirements documents through user story life cycle.
- Assist with the prioritization of initial feature development and ongoing change requests.
- Review and approve development acceptance criteria.
- Validate that the final solution addresses customers’ business needs and requirements.
- Prepare and present product demonstrations to internal and external stakeholders.

**Required Skills**:

- Must speak a very fluent English and Spanish and able to participate actively in working meetings and workshops fully in English/Spanish.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills.
- Either:

- Bachelor’s Degree on science/technical fields and/or focus on research studies, having a strong analytical mind.
- Previous experience in business or system analysis.
- Critical thinker with tolerance for ambiguity.
- Empathic person, able to understand different stakeholders’ requirements and propose solutions that best accommodate their needs.
- A positive team player looking to make a positive change.
- Strong knowledge in generating process flows documentation.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge with any conceptual documentation tool, like Lucid Chart, MS Visio or similar
**Desired Skills**
- Experience working in an international company.
- Knowledge about hospitality or related business.
- Experience working with the SCRUM methodology.
- Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools.
- Experience and understanding of the modern SDLC methodologies and best practices.
- Experience working with JIRA/Confluence.
- Some software/product development background.
- Some UX education/background.
- Understanding main project management disciplines.
