Audit Supervisor

**Description of role**

The CKH Group is looking for an energetic and high-performance Audit Supervisor to lead the audit team. The Audit Supervisor will be required to take ownership of a client engagement while supervising a team. The Audit Supervisor will report to the audit manager, located in the UK. The Audit Supervisor will obtain exposure to auditing under UK companies and FRS102. There will be opportunities to work on consulting engagements and USGaap audits during off-peak seasons.

**_ Audit Supervisor_**
- Plan and oversee annual and quarterly audits
- Perform effective risk and control assessments
- Complete audits on time and submit reports to client audit manager
- Responsible for the daily supervision of audit staff and provide support for the development of the team and the completion of performance evaluations
- Present audit findings and find ways to increase compliance and efficiency
- Work directly, and develop relationships with UK managers and partners
- Carry out and provide audit services using our bespoke risk-based audit approach;
- Act as the senior on audits reporting directly to manager.
- The individual will be responsible for the planning of the audit file right through to the completion sections, including drafting the financial statements, the management letter and the letter of representation;
- Responsible for managing a team of up to five staff.
- You will supervise, brief and effectively delegate work to less experienced members of the audit team;
- Communicate with the audit manager regularly on the audit and make recommendations to them regarding how our clients can improve their accounting systems and controls;
- Perform ‘accounts preparation’ jobs either from the client’s trial balance or from their original accounting records;
- Appraise other members of the team following completion of jobs;
**Requirements**:
**_ Experience_**

Essential
- Preparation of Financial Statements
- Excellent understanding of IFRS or the US GAAP/UK GAAP FRS102 accounting framework
- Proven experience as an auditor senior or supervisor
- Project organization experience
- In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices
- Experience with medium to small audit engagements preferred

Advantageous:

- International exposure particularly auditing American or UK companies

**_ Qualifications_**

Essential
- Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting OR equivalent
- 4 years' external audit experience

- Solid work ethic and ability to self-manage
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to work with people of different cultures
- Excellent communication skills, written and telephonic

**_Computer skills_**

Essential
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook;
- Fair understanding of an ERP system
- Experience of CaseWare and Sage would be an advantage.
